The Academic Center for Social Businesses and Impact Investing
Nurturing a New Generation of Social Business Entrepreneurs
By working hands-on with developing social businesses, Dualis is having an impact every day on the lives of people who are given a valuable opportunity to build a productive life. But Dualis is also focused on structural change in the Israeli business sector, making it more open to launching, supporting, and sustaining social businesses. To help achieve that, the organization, in partnership with the Rothschild Foundation, established a first-ever MBA track in social business development. Housed at the College of Management Academic Studies (COMAS), which runs the largest MBA program in the country, the new program opened in the fall of 2017 with 30 MBA students and an incubator for the development of social business start-ups.
Dualis staff and leadership are deeply involved in the development of this program, in partnership with COMAS. Senior staff members meet with students, conduct case studies with students as part of their practicum, host demo days for new businesses, and run meet-ups and seminars related to social business start-ups. Dualis stakeholders continue to invest a great deal of time and resources in the success of this program, which is expected to help create a new generation of social business entrepreneurs.
